Animal Rescue and Care

Animal Rescue and Care (ARC) was set up in 2001 with the vision that every animal in our local area should be loved and cared for. It has grown from small beginnings to become a thriving charity that has helped thousands of animals.

The priority is to rescue, foster and rehome animals in Richmond upon Thames, and further afield across South West London, Middlesex and Surrey. ARC works mainly with cats, rabbits and guinea pigs, but also with dogs and ‘small furries’ such as hamsters and chinchillas.

Success is judged by the high standard and quality of the care provided to each individual animal. The animals that come in are looked after in foster homes by loving, experienced carers until a permanent home is found for them. Animals that come into ARC's care are not put down unless they are suffering.

ARC is run without paid staff or premises; keeping costs to a minimum through the support of our members, volunteers and the generosity of members of the public. Every pound that is donated or raised through fundraising, adoption or donations goes straight to helping animals in need.

The charity is also passionate about providing advice and information to the public about caring for their animals and the importance of neutering. You’ll often find them at local events and fairs, meeting pet owners and sharing their knowledge.
